  • What is yoga and what are its benefits?

  • How does Hormone Yoga differ from “normal” yoga?
    Hormone Yoga has the same benefits as normal yoga practice however, it is tailored to work alongside the symptoms, restrictions and associated triggers for women living with hormonal issues. The yoga style used for each class is matched to specific hormonal symptom. For instance, a class for hot flushes will have tailored asana that helps dissipate heat, with slow restorative movements, using breathwork that has cooling effects. The classes are designed to educate and empower menopausal women, helping them to reframe and embrace this period of transformation that is often looked upon negatively. Hormone Yoga uses both Western medical inputs, alongside Eastern views of hormonal imbalances through Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Hormone Yoga classes include journaling, prose and a women’s circle to help encourage each student with their own personal journey, while offering the benefits and different experiences of a like-minded community This class is specifically designed for women either going through a phase of the menopause, suffering with PMS or PMDD or exacerbated hormonal symptoms caused by periods of stress.
  • Is yoga suitable for beginners or people with no prior experience?
    Yes, yoga is suitable for people of all skill levels, including beginners. Inner Lifetime offers beginner classes and workshops to help newcomers feel comfortable and learn the basic poses and techniques.
  • Are there different types of yoga? Which one is best for me?
    There are numerous yoga styles, such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Yin, each offering a unique approach and focus. It's essential to explore different styles and find one that resonates with your needs and preferences. Discuss your goals with a yoga instructor, who can help you choose the best style for you.
  • What should I wear and bring to a yoga class?
    Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Equipment is provided but if you feel you would benefit from additional padding under your yoga mat, feel free to bring your own yoga mat to lay on top of the one provided. It is also a good idea to bring a water bottle, as well as arriving hydrated. Yoga towels are to be brought if you are like me, and get your sweat on quite easily. Particularly for heated yoga - you are required to bring your own however you can hire one for £3.
  • How often should I practice yoga to see results?
    The frequency of your practice depends on your personal goals and schedule. However, consistency is key. Practicing yoga 2-3 times a week can help you experience noticeable improvements in flexibility, strength, and stress levels.
  • I have an existing injury/medical condition. Can I still practice yoga?
    It's important to consult with your healthcare professional before starting any new exercise regimen, including yoga. In many cases, yoga can be adapted to accommodate injuries or medical conditions, but it's crucial to inform your instructor about any limitations or concerns to ensure a safe and beneficial practice. Ultimately you are accountable for your own health and well being and will be required to tick a disclaimer for each class acknowledging this.
  • Which plan or membership is best for me?
    Inner Lifetime's block plans and memberships have been designed to be as compatible with as many peoples needs as possible. Here are some examples of how to get the best out of different types of memberships: YOGA + MEDITATION £36 This reduces the classes in this plan down from £10 to £9 Worthwhile if you are planning to attend 4 classes a month, and are only planning to do the below 1hr classes : Vinyasa Yin Vin-Yin Nidra Restorative Pranayama + Meditation This block plan excludes any 45 min classes, 90 minute classes, and heated yoga YOGA + MEDITATION £85 This reduces the classes in this plan down from £10 to £8.50 Worthwhile if you are planning to 10 classes within 3 months, and are only planning to do the below 1hr classes : Vinyasa Yin Vin-Yin Nidra Restorative Pranayama + Meditation This block plan excludes any 45 min classes, 90 minute classes, and heated yoga Inner Lifetime online Membership £35 This membership is designed for those only ever wishing to attend online classes.With the individual class prices being 1hr @£7.50, 45 min @ £5.60 and 90 min @ £11.25, this is worth you becoming a member if what you wish to attend exceeds the price of £35. This block plan excludes heated yoga. Inner Lifetime Gold Membership £60 This membership is designed with no restrictions so if you wish to attend a combination of online and in person, and are wanting to make yoga a regular part of your habit, this is package for you. If you are planning to attend in person hormone yoga @ £15 per class and regular heated yoga @£12.50 per class, i for the same price or less, it makes sense to benefit from the other class options at no extra cost.
